What a great surprise we encountered Sunday evening at Muddy Maher’s. Finally a real Jazz band playing in Kinsale. The Polish ensemble “Poles Apart” rocked the town. Rocked is probably not the proper term “Jazzed” the town is more appropriate. Kinsale is well known for it’s Fringe Jazz Festival however, the bands are mostly blues oriented. These guys played proper Jazz and didn’t scare the crowd away.
Most people shy away from any music deemed Jazz, but this band had the pub won over with their accessible stylings. If you see the name “Poles Apart” in the future make sure to put them on your list of must-do things in Kinsale…
